Export your data and close your account

Both GDPR rights are self-service. Download everything WBSync holds about you as a single JSON file in one click, and delete your account yourself — suspended immediately, permanently anonymised after a 30-day grace window, with a one-click recover link by email in case you change your mind.

Download your data (right to portability)

1
Open Settings → Account

Find the Download my data card and click Download JSON. The export is generated on the spot — no waiting for an email.

2
What's inside

One JSON file containing everything attributed to you: profile fields, company memberships across every tenant, project memberships, labour entries you logged (and those you submitted on behalf of operatives), audit-log actions you performed, and your starred projects. Other people's data is never included.

The export covers your footprint, not the company's. For project-level data — WBS, hours, reports — use the XLSX/CSV exports on the relevant pages, which any suitably-permissioned colleague can run at any time.

Delete your account (right to erasure)

1
Confirm the deletion

From Settings → Account, open Delete account. Enter your password and type DELETE to confirm. Your account is suspended on the spot and every active session is signed out.

2
The 30-day grace window

Nothing is destroyed yet. You receive an email with a one-click recover link — open it any time within 30 days and the account is restored exactly as it was.

3
Permanent anonymisation

After the grace window a nightly job permanently anonymises the account: personal identifiers are removed and can't be recovered. Historical labour entries stay attached to a deactivated, anonymised record so your former colleagues' project history, approvals and audit trail remain intact.

If you're a company owner

WBSync won't let a deletion orphan a company. If you are the only owner of a company that still has other active users, the deletion is blocked until you promote another user to Owner (Settings → Team) — in any of the companies you own, including secondary ones. A company with no other users can simply be wound down with your account.

Deleting your account does not cancel the company's subscription. If you're winding down the whole company, cancel the plan from Settings → Billing first, then delete your account.
Before deleting, run the data export — after anonymisation there is nothing left to export.

What next?

Winding the company down instead? Start with the plan: Billing, plans and operative packs →

Frequently asked

What format is the data export?

A single JSON file, generated on demand and downloaded immediately. It contains your profile, memberships across every company, your labour entries (own and submitted-for-others), audit actions and starred projects.

Can I recover my account after requesting deletion?

Yes, within the 30-day grace window — open the one-click recover link emailed to you when the deletion was scheduled. After the window closes the account is permanently anonymised and cannot be recovered.

What happens to the hours I logged after my account is deleted?

They remain. Labour entries, approvals and audit history stay attached to a deactivated, anonymised record so the company's project data and evidence trail are preserved — only your personal identifiers are removed.

Why is my deletion blocked as a company owner?

You're the only owner of a company that still has other active users. Promote another user to Owner from Settings → Team first — this applies to every company you own, including any secondary tenants.

Does deleting my account cancel the subscription?

No. The subscription belongs to the company, not your user. Cancel the plan from Settings → Billing before deleting your account if you're winding the company down.

Is any of this gated behind support tickets?

No. Both the export and the deletion are fully self-service from Settings → Account, on every plan including the trial.
